Ben Odry
I’ve cleaned up the Blogroll links on the side of the page (some links were down, sorry!). And I’ve added Ben Odry’s page (7 hits) to it. He is a friend and gifted musician, make sure you check out his music!

Been listening to way too much Zoe Keating (5 hits) recently, and my guitar thought it was a cello today.

No new songs since I’ve been crazy busy with work, but I did manage to go out and buy a Suhr Badger (83 hits) combo, and it is freaking sweet!
Here is my first attempt at recording it.
Fender Player’s Deluxe Strat (79 hits) (with noiseless pickups) -> wah -> modded tube screamer (68 hits) -> badger.
Shure SM57 (71 hits) mic placed lower middle of the grill, pointed slightly up. Mic goes into Emu1820 (69 hits) -> CubaseSX. In there I added some slight echo and reverb with Guitar Rig 2 (63 hits). Cut off some of the bass as it was a bit too boomy coming out of my monitors.
Settings:
Badger: power 1, drive < 4, bass < 4, middle > 4, treble 5, gain > 2
Tube Screamer: drive 1 o’, level 9 o’, tone 12 o’, mode 1

Here’s a quick test recording of my new fantastic Ovation LX SERIES Standard Elite (10 hits).

Amie Street (298 hits) is a community based online music store. Every song starts free and increases in price (98c max) as it gets more popular (measured in number of downloads).
You can recommend songs to the community, and if the songs get popular, you will receive credit to buy more music.
It’s a nice concept and I’ve discovered alot of fresh new music, so check it out!
Another drone ambient track featuring the ebow on some crazy reverse detuned echo trip.

And it is one of the most beautiful and best sounding instruments I’ve ever seen and heard.
Many thanks to Pablo Richter (407 hits), for creating such a wonderful instrument! He is the luthier who made the instruments for Gustavo Santaolalla’s Ronroco (19 hits), Motorcycle Diaries (21 hits) and Babel (22 hits) recordings, so this is the exact same sound you will get when you order an instrument from Mr. Richter.

More pics here (393 hits).
And here is a little sample I recorded with the SM57. I might have to get a condenser to mic this guy properly, although this sounds nice.
